About this event
Environmental Committee Coffee Hour. BHV Environmental Committee is sponsoring a coffee at the AC Hotel Bethesda Corella Cafe to discuss perspectives on current environmental concerns. The meeting will begin by reflecting on insights from Aldo Leopold, author of "A Sand County Almanac," and a founding pioneer in the field of conservation. The discussion will also examine the extreme weather events that have become increasingly common over the past several years – more hurricanes, intense rainstorms and wildfires out West that destroy entire towns. Recent hurricane-related flooding causing over 200 deaths in North Carolina and southern states - once thought to be climate 'safehavens' - should be a wake up call. We will discuss the causes of these events and simple steps that you can take to be prepared. We will send out articles before the meeting to facilitate discussion. Please RSVP by registering on our website, and if you have questions, email info@bradleyhillsvillage.org for this event as seating at the Cafe is limited to 8 participants. The Corella Cafe is located in the AC Hotel Bethesda at 4646 Montgomery Ave. Parking available across from the Corella Cafe Hotel.
